The Cannabis Travel Association International prides itself on being a volunteer-run organization. We serve to advance the mainstream adoption and integration of the cannabis-related travel trend through Advocacy, Education, Networking and b2b Marketing. We promote safe and responsible cannabis travel by demystifying the cannabis-related travel trend and work to unify the cannabis, hemp and travel industries. 

In 2024 we have decided to trade membership dues for your time, passion and talent. Below are the following roles we are seeking to fill.

Role Descriptions:

CTAI Marketing Chair

Objective: To develop and implement effective marketing strategies that promote CTAI’s mission and activities, increasing visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CTAI board and work groups to create an annual marketing plan.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns across various channels.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance using analytics tools.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Meet regularly with CTAI marketing team members to drive strategy and execution

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for regular planning and execution. More time may be required during special initiatives and events.

Marketing Specialist

Objective: To develop and implement effective marketing strategies that promote CTAI’s mission and activities, increasing visibility and engagement.

  • Organize and make website changes based on requests from other marketing team members. 
  • Monitor website and email performance, making improvements as needed.
  • Create promotion materials for events, newsletters and the website 
  • Develop graphic & video posts, stories and reels for social channels

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for regular planning and execution. More time may be required during special initiatives and events.

Social Media Manager

Objective: To enhance CTAI’s social media presence through engaging and visually appealing content.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a monthly content calendar 
  • Create and schedule social media posts.
  • Collaborate with the social media team to maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  • Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for social media content creation and scheduling. More time may be needed for special campaigns or events.

Member Promotion & Communication 

Objective: To promote member engagement and facilitate effective communication with CTAI’s membership base.

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Marketing and Membership Chairs to,

  • Coordinate speakers for monthly member virtual meeting
  • Facilitate member company listing is on the member directory
  • Facilitate highlighting new members on social media and member newsletter.
  • Develop and maintain press opportunities and speakers bureau to enhance awareness of CTAI and our members with media coverage and opportunities to speak at CTAI events. 
  • Source contributors for the CTAI blog.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase member engagement.
  • Regularly update and maintain the CTAI website with new member information.
  • Own the creation and sending of engaging member email newsletters
  • Monitor website and email performance, making improvements as needed.
  • Assist in creating member-focused content and resources.
  • Respond to member inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Encourage member referrals and retention.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for member communication and engagement activities. More time may be needed during membership drives or events.

Partner Promotion & Communication 

Objective: To promote member engagement and facilitate effective communication with CTAI’s membership base.

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Marketing and Membership Chairs to,

  • Identify potential partners and collaborate with the partnership team.
  • Communicate with partners, ensuring they are informed about CTAI activities.
  • Develop partner-focused content and resources.
  • Assist in executing partnership-related initiatives and campaigns.
  • Facilitate partner company listing on the website directory
  • Facilitate new partner announcements on social media and member newsletter.
  • Respond to partner inquiries and concerns promptly.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for member communication and engagement activities. More time may be needed during membership drives or events.

Event Marketing Chair – Virtual Cannabis Travel World Fair 

Objective: To market and promote the virtual Cannabis Travel World Fair effectively, driving attendance and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Build awareness before, during, and after event
  • Develop a marketing strategy using various channels (social media, email, web).
  • Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including digital content, ads, and press releases.
  • Establish partnerships with other organizations or influencers for wider reach.
  • Monitor and analyze event performance metrics.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week to start. Will increase as the event nears. 

Program Marketing for Advocacy Toolkit and Data Report 

Objective: To market CTAI’s advocacy toolkit and data report, ensuring they reach a wide audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for the toolkit and report to our members and those that would purchase the report
  • Devise a content strategy of promoting key data points online and media outlets
  • Create compelling marketing materials for these products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify target audiences.
  • Monitor product performance and gather user feedback.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for product marketing and promotion. Additional time during product launches and updates.

Cannabis Travel World Fair Roles (2 Day Virtual Event in May 2024)

CTWF Virtual Event Chair

Objective: To lead and oversee all aspects of the virtual Cannabis Travel World Fair, ensuring a seamless and successful event.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the overall event leader and coordinator.
  • Create and manage a detailed event plan and timeline.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure alignment with the event’s goals.
  • Oversee the execution of all event components.
  • Troubleshoot and address any issues during the event.
  • Lead post-event evaluations and debriefs for continuous improvement.

Time Commitment: Significant time commitment leading up to and during the event, including planning meetings and debriefs. Regular communication and coordination in the weeks leading up to the event.

CTWF Event/Video Producer

Objective: To manage the video technical aspects of the virtual Cannabis Travel World Fair and ensure a smooth event production.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Speaker Coordinator to schedule the pre-recording of content to be played during the virtual event 
  • Edit presenter videos to fit platform requirements and match CTAI and Cannabis Travel World Fair branding
  • Manage live streaming during the event.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues in real-time.
  • Work closely with the Virtual Event Chair to ensure the event’s technical requirements are met.
  • Prepare and test all technical elements in advance of the event.

Time Commitment: Intensive time commitment during the event, including pre-event setup and testing. Availability for troubleshooting during the entire event.

CTWF Speaker Coordinator

Objective: To recruit, coordinate, and support speakers for the virtual Cannabis Travel World Fair.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and reach out to potential speakers and presenters.
  • Manage communication with speakers and provide necessary information.
  • Coordinate speaker schedules and ensure timely presentations.
  • Provide speakers with branded presentation materials
  • Work with Event/Video Producer to schedule and pre-record speaker presentations
  • Schedule and coordinate a speaker overview and rehearsal.
  • Gather presentation materials and ensure their proper integration into the event.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week leading up to the event, increasing as the event date approaches. More time may be required for speaker support during the event.

CTWF International Experience/Excursion Coordinator

Objective: To plan and coordinate virtual excursions and international experiences as part of the Cannabis Travel World Fair.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and select virtual international excursions and experiences.
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors to arrange virtual tours and activities.
  • Work with Event/Video Producer to obtain video recording
  • Promote and market the excursions to event attendees.
  • Ensure a smooth and engaging experience for participants.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for excursion planning and coordination leading up to the event. More time may be needed during the event to support participants.

CTWF Sponsorship Coordinator

Objective: To secure sponsorship for the Cannabis Travel World Fair and manage relationships with sponsors.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential sponsors and partners for the event.
  • Promote sponsorship packages and proposals.
  • Reach out to potential sponsors and negotiate agreements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with sponsors.
  • Ensure that sponsors receive agreed-upon benefits and recognition.

Time Commitment: Varies depending on the duration of sponsorship negotiations and the level of sponsor engagement. Regular communication leading up to and during the event.

Advocacy Committee Chair

Objective: To lead and coordinate CTAI’s advocacy efforts, promoting responsible cannabis tourism and educating policymakers and the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an advocacy strategy aligned with CTAI’s mission.
  • Work with international representatives to identify key legislative and regulatory issues affecting cannabis tourism.
  • Build relationships with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and advocacy groups.
  • Organize and participate in advocacy campaigns, including lobbying efforts.
  • Monitor legislative developments and provide regular updates to the committee and CTAI members.
  • Collaborate with the education subcommittee to create advocacy materials.

Time Commitment: Varies based on legislative cycles and advocacy initiatives. Regular committee meetings and ongoing communication required.

Advocacy Committee Member

Objective: To support the Advocacy Committee in its efforts to advocate for responsible cannabis tourism.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in researching and analyzing legislative and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in advocacy campaigns, including contacting policymakers and attending meetings.
  • Help organize and promote advocacy events and initiatives.
  • Stay informed about developments in cannabis policy and tourism regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Advocacy Committee Chair and fellow subcommittee members.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for research and communication, with additional time during advocacy campaigns and events.

Education Committee Chair

Objective: To oversee CTAI’s education initiatives, providing valuable resources and information to international members and the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an education strategy focused on cannabis tourism.
  • Create educational materials, webinars, workshops, and resources.
  • Identify subject matter experts and guest speakers for educational events.
  • Coordinate with marketing to promote educational content.
  • Collaborate with the advocacy subcommittee to align education with advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and impact of education programs.

Time Commitment: Regular committee meetings and ongoing work to develop and deliver educational content. Time commitment may vary based on educational initiatives and events.

Education Committee Member

Objective: To assist the Education Committee in creating and delivering educational resources related to cannabis tourism.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of educational materials and resources.
  • Support the planning and execution of webinars, workshops, and educational events.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accurate and valuable content.
  • Assist in promoting educational initiatives to CTAI members and the public.
  • Work closely with the Education Committee Chair and fellow subcommittee members.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for content development and coordination, with additional time required during educational events and campaigns.
